EventBrite - Great for emailing invitations to events (FREE)

I have used this now twice and am amazed at how well this system works with minimal effort.  You can create an email that links to other sites but this solution does it all.  Even makes name tags!  If your event is free or you take money at the door or from some other method, it is free.  Import your mailing lists even if you use Constant Contact.  Copy a CSV of your lists and import them in a second and send up to 2,000 emails per day.

Video in an Email??? MailChimp makes it happen easy

I use the flexibility of Blip.TV to store and distribute larger sized video. Beside embedding them in a WEB, you can now use MailChimp.com to send them the the code embedded in the email that places the image from the video inside the email and starts its when you click it.  All you do is place the code id in a text line and publish! UNbelievable!

Google Apps can benefit Tennessee Conference

Using the newest Google resources provided for non-profits can have benefits for The Church and the manner in which we minister today.

Can you remember working BG? (Before Google) How ever did we learn before the Internet?

Young people today DO NOT remember that time. They learn in different ways than most adults who have adopted to The Internet. This style change is not easy to learn for a lot of us.

Most of us learned alone. That is our reading, research, even classroom assignments were individualistic and taught us to that learning was an individual effort. Many of us were not as well suited to the styles and methods and taking tests that measured the individualistic accumulation of knowledge did little to help us apply and adapt to the world in which we now find ourselves. We just continue doing it the same way.

But if we can find new tools that can enable us to move from the 20th century learning methods to the 21th century methods then we we may also learn the newest reasons why learning has changed and how it can benefit us in better communications and ministries with those who are much younger.

Google Apps seems to fit that bill perfectly. Its whole approach is to help us learn the styles of the newest learning methods that can help achieve our goal of being a TEAM.
